Yell Inverso, AuD., PhD, currently serves as the Director of the Nemours Center for Pediatric Communication and Audiology for Nemours and the Nemours Alfred I duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE. A licensed pediatric audiologist, she received her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree and later her Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Hearing Science from Gallaudet University in Washington, DC. Dr. Inverso’s clinical and research interests include the hearing brain, hyperacousis and misophonia in childhood, cochlear implantation, and evidence-based pediatric diagnostic evaluation. In recent years, she has focused her attention of the administrative leadership and growth of the multidisciplinary programs affiliated with Audiology and Augmentative Communication. Dr. Inverso has held adjunct faculty appointments at Salus University and the School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Inverso has multiple publications and book chapters in her areas of interest and offers mentorship for young audiologists and researchers in related fields. She brings to this advisory board a deep understanding of hearing, the auditory system as well as the acoustic characteristics and properties of sound.
